luma relief

An interactive video installation (for anaglyph red/cyan 3D glasses), an experiment on photo-like technical images and how they connect to reality.

I tried to make a digital mirror, naively: the machine interprets lightness as distance. With this depth information a 3D scene is constructed and rendered. It kind of works as a mirror, but not quite. Through interaction (“play”) you can get a feeling for the transformation and learn to “read” it.
